Taking health care to the last mile
September 16, 2025
Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge, especially for people living in rural areas. Many are forced to walk long distances just to reach the nearest health facility and even then, they often face drug shortages or find too few health workers available to attend to them.
These challenges combine to limit timely access to essential care and worsen health outcomes for already vulnerable communities.
When health facilities are far away from families, ChildFund brings mobile clinics to the communities that need them most.
Through these outreach efforts, families receive essential healthcare including medical consultations, maternal and child health services, immunisation and health education.
Bringing services closer to the people not only reduces barriers to care but also improves health outcomes for vulnerable communities.
